Full accessory package includes two extra standard batteries (EBP-20N), soft
case (ESC-17), remote-control speaker/microphone (EMS-8Z), dry-cell battery
case (EDH-11), and drop-in quick charger (EDC-34). This charger operates from
a wall transformer (included) or a 12-volt car cord that allows for charger
operation from any 12-13.6v source, so you can even charge the batteries from
your car lighter socket! You can also operate the radio while it is in the
charger. LEDs on the charger indicate battery charge status.
This radio has 40 memories plus 2 call channels, simultaneous dual-band
scan/receive, CTCSS, Digital Coded Squelch with paging and messaging, full
crossband duplex, crossband repeat, 3 DTMF autodial memories, and a host of
other features you would expect to find in a first-class radio. It even has a
stereo earphone jack that allows for separating the audio from the two bands.
It has a jack for direct connection to a car cord or other power supply for a
full 5 watts output. Output from the standard batteries is 2.2 watts, but 12v
batteries are also available, and work with the drop-in charger.
This is a terrific package for the new or experienced amateur. The
