Greetings, Uwe!
On 25 Apr 98, Uwe Wolfram entered the following ASCII codes for the express
viewing pleasure of Bill Wunsch:
BW>> "Tigershark" painted on the nose. The caption reads "The F-20
BW>> Tigershark, which General Yeager thinks is the finest fighter". I
BW>> assume if was never produced in number, as I don't recall hearing of
BW>> it anywhere else, and the book does not mention it.

UW> This was a modernized version of the F-5, developed by Northrop in
UW> a private initiative, initially called F-5G. It was layed out to achieve
UW> Mach 1.9 and 9 g. The three prototypes surpassed all expectations, but
UW> due to a lack of orders the project was cancelled in 1986.
Thanks. There wasn't enough of the plane (it was more like a picture of the
GENERAL with a plane background) shown to get an idea of the lines, so I
couldn't tell what it really looked like. But by looks of the flying suit, I
thought it must have been a relatively modern design.
