-> It makes sense to have drink cans made out of steel:

-> 1) It is cheaper 
-> 2) It is stronger 
-> 3) It is more readily available 
-> 4) It is cheaper and easier to recuperate 
  
And it rusts. 
  
And it's heavier. 
  
I'm sure that if Coca Cola, the major breweries, and other drink 
companies here in North America could save money by using steel cans, 
then that's what they'd be doing. They don't, so they can't.
