subject: A question of speed

FR> DV> On my 3.12 network the server is a 486DX266. Can I
FR> DV> connect 120Mhz and 133Mhz Pentium workstations? Will they
FR> DV> work together well or will I get in trouble because of the
FR> DV> speed-difference?
FR> DV> I always could take a Pentium and build a server out
FR> DV> of it, for a number of reasons I rather leave the server as it
FR> DV> is.
FR>You're setup will be fine. A 3.12 486/66 based server will perform
FR>great. The workstations will be ok also.
Good advice Frank! I have even a slower server in a 386-40 with 20
meg's. of ram. However, it works and works well so why replace it any
time soon? Since it's only a 5 user network, I really can't see any big
reason to have a dynamite server when a cheap one will suffice.
