Fantastic! Never would have discovered that on my own.
The situation occurred when I downloaded ASCII articles
for the newsletter, pushed them through conversion steps,
and boldly inserted formatting codes where they seemed
appropriate. Had I created them from scratch, I probably
would not (won't guarantee that) have created the problem.
