I think whatever program you are using to view the nodelist doesn't interpret
the text as UTF-8, but as ISO 8859-1, Window-1252 or something similar. The
report is correct.
But there shouldn't be any invalid characters in the nodelist. They should be
translated or stripped. A UTF-8 nodelist that is not a valid UTF-8 file is a
bit pointless.
