I don't know. From what I have been learning about the 767, it seems they
need a STANDBY ALTIMETER that has it's source from an area that is not
subject to the Duct Tape, somewhere out of the pressurized area, such as aft
of the pressure dome.
Then on the other hand, a little training on how to fly the thing without
the Flight Director, Auto Pilots, altitude select, altitude hold, Auto
Throttles, and the rest of the GINGER BREAD would have saved their day. The
small amount of training could have been a little briefing on what to do,
that's about all it would have taken.
From what I have been able to pick up from those who are qualified on the
767, it seems it is very close to the 747-100/200 series, which means in the
same situation as AEROPERU, if a person uses a power setting which is
normally used for the maneuvering airspeeds in the terminal area which on the
747 is to
Stand the power up to the mid position on the quadrant (that is if engine
instruments are not available). If the engine instruments are available it
would be 1.07/1.11 EPR's on the 747 for power and for Pitch Attitude it would
be a positive five degrees.
I would be interested in knowing what EPR'S it is on the 767 at max. gross
landing wght. or the position of the power levers. If a person knows the
power and the Pitch Attitude for maneuvering it's a very comforting piece of
knowledge to have stored away for just in case.
