CBC North had this to say:

Four Yukon Quest mushers tackle the Iditarod

The winner of the Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race was an early
leader in this year's Iditarod race, which started in Alaska on the
weekend.

Lance Mackey, who is one of 82 dogmushers racing to the coastal
community of Nome, was the first to reach the Finger Lake checkpoint on
Monday morning. The 35-year-old Mackey is one of four mushers who
recently completed the 1,600-kilometre Quest.

Hans Gatt, of Atlin, B.C., placed second in the 2006 Quest and is the
only musher to have won that race three times in a row.

Whitehorse musher Sebastian Schnuelle, who is using 11 of the same dogs
he had on the Quest, says he's been having a hard time catching up on
his sleep between these two long distance races.

The fourth musher to take on both competitions is Alaskan musher Hugh
Neff. He was forced to scratch from the Yukon Quest in Dawson City.

There is one musher from the Northwest Territories in the Iditarod.
Warren Palfry, of Yellowknife, is a running the race for the first time.
