Well...

In .nthelp I deleted all the headers for which I hadn't fetched messages
and tried to get new headers, nothing came up.  There must have been at
least a test message from Geo similar to those in .hack and .hardware, so
this is icky.  However, I then posted the below and tried again to get new
headers, and this did show up, albeit as an addition to a thread from
***2003***.    Could somebody please reply to let me know whether
this shows up for you?

So... it seems deleting the ones for which I hadn't fetched messages not
only didn't work here, but somehow made it impossible to even see headers
posted on the new server, at least until I posted my own message.
