I'm not sure about novell's compress, but stacker and everyother compression 
program I can think of, make zip's and other archives BIGGER.  The reason for 
this is (I don't beleave this BTW), you can't compress somthing that is 
already compressed.  It gets bigger because pkzip or whatever adds header and 
the such info to the file.  Think of it as sending a zip file vs. a text file 
over the modem.  Which goes faster?
