I sometimes look at Google Groups to view old Usenet postings.
Could you please indicate where you're seeing the choices to 
turn off threaded view and to click on the "Date" column? I'm
currently looking at:

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.moderated/topics

And I don't see those options. The only options I see are "Topic list/
Topic summary" and "Latest message/First message." But the latter 
refers to latest and first messages *on that page,* not in the entire
history of the group.

Does one have to be logged into Google Groups to see the options
you mentioned?
