There is a reason in democratic societies that secret ballots are used -
I'm sure you know the reason... We vote openly in the echo, and we may or
may not discuss problems, ideas in the echo.

As far as distrusting that discussions may be held in private, what does it
affect? The only thing it generally does is allow people to speak their
minds without fear of someone "punishing" them for voicing that
opinion.
