Hmmm. I just looked on W2k and you're right. The status says
"Started", and the particular machine has been pretty well idle
for a couple of days, and the other numbers displayed indicate it has
finished indexing.

So it's only XP and W2003 where it says "Indexing Paused (User Active)".
