Replying to a message of Ardith Hinton to Bob Ackley: AH> Hi, Bob! Recently you wrote in a message to Gord Hannah: BA>> I was diagnosed with prostate cancer at the ripe old BA>> age of 50 (in 1975). Had a radical prostatectomy (cut BA>> the whole thing out). I'm still here and bothering BA>> people a bit over 11 years later. AH> Uh-huh. My father had skin cancer & prostate cancer when AH> he was in his fifties. He died at ninety-five... essentially because AH> his body wore out. AH> From what I've seen of your posts in other echoes, you AH> appear to be a man of good sense. AH> You're most welcome to keep "bothering" us here.... ;-) Thank you. FWIW, in 2004 (age 59) I came as close to having a (probably fatal) heart attack as one can come without actually having it. 99% blockage in one coronary artery, fixed with an angioplasty and stent on March 1 of that year. Fortunately I didn't ignore the discomfort (no real pains as such) and explained the symptoms to the ER physician at the AF hospital at Offutt (back then Offutt *had* a hospital, it's since been downgraded to a clinic). I was admitted directly from the Offutt ER to the coronary unit in a civilian hospital about 7 miles away and was transported there by civilian ambulance. AH> -!- timEd/386 1.10.y2k+ AH> !
