I am attempting to run Maximus using ARGUS as a front-end. ARGUS allows
dial-up and TCP/IP connections, however, the documentation is written as if
you already know how to configure ARGUS.
The HELP provides a "solution" to fire up Maximus...
d:\max\maxn.exe -s%b -b%B -n%n -p%h
%b ARGUS_DTE Port Speed
%B ARGUS_DCE Connect Speed
%n ARGUS_LINE Mailer Line (number of active TCP/IP connects)
%p ARGUS_INDEX TCP/IP Port number
But there is *no* information on how to handle a FOSSIL connection.
I have, using COM/IP! from Tactical Software (demo expires 10/31), managed to
get MAximus to _see_ the 'virtual modem', and from the "external"
configurations, I can get it to fire the BBS up on hitting twice.
But...Max fires in LOCAL mode, and won't pass the port info. Tried using
RUNBBS.BAT from the Max distribution, and a SPAWNBBS.BAT from a Binkley
config, since ARGUS is essentially a Binkley style mailer.
I can feel that the answer is simple, but I'm trying to do this
'under the gun'...the demo runs out, and I am trying to do this in between my
_regular_ work, since that's where I'm setting it up.
Any and all input is worthwhile...
