Hello Bob,
long time no talk to. Trust all is well. I have Win95 on 2 machines.
One is a 486DX2-66 and the other is a Pentium 100 mhz. laptop. I find
that both work well though there is a small amount of disk activity on
the 486 every now and then. But, as far as multi-tasking is concerned I
don't really have a problem with either machine. For me anyway, I have
found that Win95 works very nicely in a multi-tasking environment.
Though you do need to have enough memory to make it happy so to speak.
I have 20 meg's. in the desktop and 24 meg's in the laptop. I have been
told (I do not know if this is correct or not) that I really need 64
meg's in the desktop machine for heavy duty multi-tasking. I am not
sure about that one, as I seem very happy with the 20 meg's. I already
have in it.
I do have a problem that perhaps you can advise me on. I am using a
Megahertz V.34 modem and HyperAccess Professional on one of the Win95
machines. I dial a board and create a log on script, and then properly
save it. When I get out of HyperAccess and then go back again, the
script I had just created no longer works. As when I connect again the
program will hang from a no response error. As always, thank you for
any help you can give me here, and as always a pleasure to talk with the
well informed! Sorry, I could not resist that plug for you!
