Indexserver does log some stuff but it's useless for tracking down the =
cause of a reindex. I've spent hours trying to figure out why it keeps =
reindexing websites but it seems it just likes to kick in whenever the =
wind gusts or something. Its the exact same sort of behavior that Gregg =
is describing.
I thought it was the web server log files at first but I made sure =
indexserver was only logging static pages and it still did it. It's like =
it was watching how often a file got touched.

I mentioned earlier I wasn't sure if this was logged. I'm probably =
remembering log events from Index Server.

Anything in the event log?
Rich
There is nothing unusual in either the system or application event =
log in the 24 hours or so around when this happened. Does the WDS log =
this sort of thing? There is no entry for example about the reindexing I =
initiated.
