Thanks for the information. I don't have a chrono. so I had no
idea what the velocity would have been. It seems it's about the
same as the shot velocity listed in the loading manuals. Probably
ok for a self defense load, but a little pokey for deer hunting.
Our club has a slug gun match each year, these should work ok for
that also. I have to agree that the Lyman slug mould is more "user
friendly", seems if the lead temp isn't just right, releasing the
slug from the Lee can be quite frustrating. BTW you mentioned that
you were using a Bolt action slug gun. Would that be the Marlin?
Do you find a considerable accuracy improvement with that gun over
a pump or semi auto?
