Poor advice from your vet. The bird is 10, and is fine, right? :-) No reason
to isolate the birds now. They enjoy and need the stimulation and
interaction they get from being in the main part of the house with you. They
will absolutely be fine by being covered at night in the living room (as
I've done with my birds for 11 years), or you can move them to another room,
and they will not be stressed. They will quickly get used to the routine.
