Marius, Maybe you can help me to isolate a problem that I am having with
my IDE controller secondary port. The system has not been able to see
any drive that I've put on it. Device manager in W95 seems to show the
proper I/O ranges and interrups (14,15) for the primary and secondary
ports, but no drives are found on 2nd port. The AMI BIOS (1994) has
settings for the secondary port but it dosen't report any drives found
either. I have eliminated all of the hardware, I think :-) I have even
tried three different VLB I/O controller cards. Two Holtek chip sets
and one WinBond.
I don't know if my problem is in the way the BIOS gets to the secondary
port. Do you include the secondary port in your drivers' "debugging
purposes." If so is there anyway that I could get a copy of your
program. None of the diagonistics that I have seem to test the
secondary IDE port, or report doing so anyway :-)
I hope that you can give me some pointers to help resolving this
problem.
Thanks & 73, de Bob, W6TVJ
