---------------BATF Snake Oil Exposed:
(Los Angeles Times July 14th, pg. A1) When the story about
the Viper Militia first broke I did not report on it because the
source of the story, the BATF (Bozos Against Truth &
Freedom) characteristically engages in untruths. To put it more
bluntly, they lie. Today the LA Times ran a front page story
listing the lies, half truths and fabrications the Bumblers,
Ankleholes and Total Fooey-ups unleashed:
*Presumably the BATF "thwarted a plot to launch a terrorist
campaign to attack government buildings with ammunition and
nitrate bombs." It looks like someone forgot to tell US District
Court Judge Earl Carroll about it because he "sent 6 of the
dozen suspects home declaring they were not a threat to their
community."
*The Viper arrest was billed as "the largest apprehension of
militia members in US history." Yet the Times reports that the
Vipers had discovered an ATF informant in their midst. Instead
of assassinating the informant, the Vipers considered
protecting the man from "a possible assassination by the
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms." Their fear was that
BATF would kill the informant and then blame them.
*Despite the media hoopla, "None of the Viper Militia
members was charged with conspiring to destroy govt.
buildings." Unfortunately none of the Bull Artists and Twisted
Fakers were charged with conspiring to destroy the
Constitution.
*"ATF supervisor Steven Ott conceded that he never notified
officials at the allegedly targeted buildings [of the possible
bombings] because he did not believe they were in danger."
*One of the ATF infiltraters was considering "becoming the
group's leader."
*This same infiltrater "urged the Vipers to rob banks to
further their cause. The Viper Militia turned him down."
*Although 6 of the Vipers remain in custody, "The govt. has
not shown an intent on the part of the Vipers to commit
terrorism."
The govt.'s case rests on "a 2-year-old videotape in which
narrators discussed ways to capture or collapse buildings. . .
possession of illegal guns and hundreds of pounds of
explosive materials." By this token anyone who reads Soldier of
Fortune and has a loaded gun in his house is a possible
assassin.
The Vipers were infected by one ATF infiltrator and one paid
informant. Says Steve Porak one of the Vipers who was
arrested and freed, "It's easy to tell who they [ATF operatives]
are. . . They want to cause problems."
Last week I reported to you on the data Jeff Randall of
Copwatch@aol.com dug up which established that the
Bureaucrats And Tyrants Forever are trained to lie in court.
Now it's becoming so obvious even the LA Times can't deny it.
However, the picture is not good, yet. The Times' headline
read, "Pursuit of Viper Militia May Backfire on US." Fried-FBI-
Files duh: "Backfire on US"? Double-gooey-marijuana-smoking-
Republicans-duh: Since when does the BATF represent the
US? Shouldn't it be "Backfire on BATF"? Jumpety snuggle
bunnies I feel an attack of Headlines of the Future coming on:
"Founding Fathers Threat to the US"
"US Constitution, Was it propaganda or disinformation?"
"The Bill Of Rights: 9 too many."
Someday the press will get its head of its collective, leftist
butt. Until then we'll have to put up with the notion that truth
and facts are a threat to the US.
---------------Pro-Liberty or Perish:
(ZC) On Thurs. July 11th, J. Neil Schulman and I debated
each other at the local NRA affiliate. The topic was: "Who
Should Gun Owners Vote For?" Neil argued for the
Republicans, I for the Libertarians. The debate was vigorous,
informative and passionate. It will be transcribed and sent to
you as a special supplement to the ZC. Video and audio tapes
of it will also be available. On Saturday 7/13, Neil endorsed
Harry Browne, the Libertarian presidential candidate. Neil
suggests that gun-owners still vote Republican in the
Congressional elections. The warning that I gave to the
Republican party was "Get Pro-Liberty or Perish." The
message was well-received. A look at Boob Dolt's positions
might explain why:
(Los Angeles Times July 10th, pg. A16) Dole once
considered overturning the ban on so-called assault weapons
"a top personal legislative priority." He now says, "'Let's be
realistic. We've moved beyond the debate.'" 37 million
mosquito tummy crunches: everytime a politician moves
beyond the Second Amendment it takes them one step closer
to confiscating the Liberty Enforcers. In other words: s/he who
has the guns has the Liberty.
The next day, the 11th, it was reported that when he was
asked to clarify his position, Bob-I-was-a-victim-of-gun-
violence-Dole said, "That's yesterday's news." By the way, Dole
loves to mention that he was injured in the war by gunfire. He
forgets to mention that it was superior firepower that enable the
US to prevail and him to survive. Hordes of tasty shell casings:
when a politician says the Second Amendment is "yesterday's
news" it's time to make him "yesterday's candidate."
(Los Angeles Times July 14th, pg. B1) The article discusses
the abortion issue, however the writer doesn't report the full
story. In the 36th Congressional District here in California a
vicious campaign is being waged between two pro-choice
candidates, one Republican, the other Democrat. What the
writer doesn't report is that the Republican candidate, Susan
Brooks, is also a fully committed, pro-gun candidate. She has
the total support of the local pro-gun organizations. If she wins,
it will be because the pro-gunners will supply her with the
margin of victory. Brooks represents the kind of Republican
who can survive the coming wave of Liberty. She's pro-Liberty
when it comes to a woman's body and guns. She appreciates a
free market. She'll need some educating about the War on
Drugs, but if she maintains her integrity, she'll eventually come
around on the drug issue.
Now let's compare her to Dole: Dole is anti-choice on a
woman's body and guns. He is one of the architects of the
welfare state. He's too stupid to understand the evil of Drug
Prohibition. He'll perish. So will the Republican party if it follows
in the footsteps of Bob Dole.

---------------Reality is on the side of pro-gunners:
(New York Times July 14th, pg. A14) Bill-every-gun-is-a-
murderer-Clinton reaped a lot of political hay by promoting the
BATF's plan to trace illegal gun sales to minors. The plan does
not call for gun registration. Instead it is designed to track the
origin of weapons illegally used. The laws prohibiting gun
registration are not effected by the plan. The plan could be a
boon for pro-gunners. A New York Times editorial, endorsing
the plan, states, "Less than 1 percent of the 160,000 federally
licensed gun dealers are responsible for half of all guns used in
crimes that it [BATF] has traced." So let's consider the
following:
*Any industry that generates an over 99% compliance rate,
as gun retailers have, should be praised and emulated.
*It's reasonable to assume that the news media will do its
usual fear and hype about gun dealers selling guns to minors.
But, now gun-owners can use these same statistics to prove
that the media is on a witch hunt. For instance, does the local
news publicize every time a restaurant is cited for a health
violation? Every time a city bus is sent out of the garage is
hazardous condition? Every time a free health clinic
misdiagnoses a problem? Does the media have a less than 1%
error rate? Ha! Ha!
*Instead of trying to stop the BATF's plan, pro-gunners can
use it to establish once again that over 99% of gun purchases
are for legitimate purposes.
