subject: Hello?

DB>The whole of the USA backbone is available over here,
This must be a fairly new thing--in late 1995, I was in touch with a
fellow (whose name I've since lost) who was trying desperately to get
his sysop to carry Parrots. The sysop said it wasn't available on the
backbone yet, and he wouldn't make the long-distance calls. So the guy I
was writing to quit trying.
It's my understanding that Fidonet is probably more popular in the UK
than it is over here right now, due to our new infatuation with the
Internet, and the relative unavailability of the 'net over there--do you
know if this is true?
DB>Our first pair was a OPALINE light green hen and a LIGHT green
DB>recessive pied cock. They produced several broods, quite a few
DB>of their babies being SKY BLUE ! but mostly Light Green like the
DB>father. Strangely enough, none had the mothers colors.
I don't even begin to understand budgie color genetics. I only know that
if you breed two budgies, you could get any color baby except
red...
DB>Other birds include: One yellow-green pied hen (never wanted to breed)
DB> One Light green cock, (never found a girl who likes him)
DB> One Opaline light mauve hen (not any fertile eggs yet)
Have you ever gotten any grey ones? I first saw the grey color in the
"English budgies" (the ones commonly raised as show birds over
here--they look much different physically than the normal wild budgies).
In the past few years, folks have been crossing the English budgies with
the normals to improve the health of the bigger English budgies, and the
grey color has crossed over to the normals. I think it's quite
attractive--grey with blue accents on the wings, face and tail, and the
usual black/white striping and spots. I don't plan on adding any other
birds in here, but if I ever did, I think I'd have to add a grey budgie
just because they're so pretty!
