I'd imagine so. Of course, I can still send a telegram to New
York. 8-) I can remember when you could call the Ohio Bell
marine operator to raise a boat, or the Air Operator to
contact an airplane, or the Mobile Operator to contact a car.
Instructions were in the front of the phone book.

I'm still of the opinion that if you decide to send EM
radiation through my house & my body, I have a right to listen
to it. Any signal not meant to be heard by anyone with a
scanner could & should be scrambled.
