On 04-26-98, JIM DAWSON most eloquently expounded thus...
> If I may butt in: a few years ago at Cancun, Mexico, I watched a Mexicana
> being overwing refueled with the apu running and the refuelers overfilled t
> tank and theexcess fuel ran down the wing near the running APU exhaust. I
> moved back, way back!
Like... from behind a distant bush! BTW, butt in any time you want!
Your comments about the garden hose reminded me of another one. We blew
the guts out of a DC-8 engine on T/O in Kingston Jamaica in the early 70's.
The airport fire dept came out to the aircraft, but instead of assisting
with the burning plane, started squirting the little grass fire that had
started as a result of the hot blades that had exited the rear of the
engine and landed on the edge of the runway. Not clear on the concept!
Thanks for the message.
