LL> GP>Ahhh, but the Rosary IS part of the Catechism, and the Rosary prayers ar
LL> GP>clearly seeking mediation between man and God by Mary, quite in oppositi
LL> GP>the Scriptures!
LL>
LL> The Rosary is a prayer consisting of may prayers. The "Hail
Mary" is
LL> one of the prayers contained in the Rosary. However, it is not a prayer
LL> seeking mediation between man and God by Mary, but rather a prayer
LL> asking Mary to "pray for us sinners" - "...Holy
Mary, Mother of God,
LL> pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death."

Can you not SEE it? That prayer is asking her to be a
MEDIATOR("MEDIATRIX")!
And the Xian Bible clearly says there's only ONE person who mediates(prays)
between God & man! (the MAN, Jesus Christ (it doesn't say GOD, J.C.!)

LL> GP>And the Popes have since used the Papal Infallibility clause twice, (on
LL> GP>declare Papal Infallibility, and the second time to contradict the Bible
LL> GP>saying Mary was born sinless and died a virgin)
LL>
LL> It is not a contradiction, given there is nothing in the Bible saying
LL> Mary was not born sinless or did not remain a virgin. The same may also
LL> be true with Papal Infallibility, although that one seems to be based on
LL> Sacred Scripture ("What you bound on earth shall also be bound in
LL> heaven").

The Bible clearly has Mary calling God her "Saviour"(and only a
sinner needs a
Saviour!)

The Bible clearly names Jesus' blood brothers! (& recent archaelogic knowledge
confirms that the statement can ONLY be referring to James being a brother by
parental lineage (rather than a "cousin" as some have tried to libel the
Scriptures by claiming!)

LL> Catholics believe in Sacred Tradition, in addition to Sacred Scripture.
LL> However, nothing in Sacred Tradition can contradict Sacred Scripture.

Yet, so many do! Considering Jesus himself certainly condemned using
TRADITIONS at all!

LL> For example, one of the Teachings of the Church, based on Sacred
LL> Tradition, is that of Veronica's veil, where a woman named Veronica
LL> wipes the face of Jesus with her veil as Jesus was dragging the cross
LL> to the place of crucifixion. There is nothing in Sacred Scripture
LL> describing a woman named Veronica, or the veil she used to wipe the face
LL> of Jesus. But it is not a contradiction to say a woman named Veronica
LL> wiped the face of Jesus with her veil. It would be if Sacred Scripture

it's a contradiction in that the Scriptures clearly state that nothing should
be added to them!

LL> is a bit different than Sacred Scripture. Nothing in Sacred Tradition
LL> can contradict anything in Sacred Scripture. But what is in Sacred
LL> Tradition is not necessarily in Sacred Scripture.

Of course, MUCH of "Sacred Tradition" contradicts "Sacred
Scripture"!

But Catholics are so used to being told that what they've read isn't the plain
facts! (at one time the Pope officially proclaimed the KJV Bible as a "tool of
the Protestant devil"; but soon enough other Popes proclaimed it the
"Authorized Version"!

LL> >LL>Some Catholics might believe in the concept of a
"co-mediatrix".
LL> >LL>Those who do are merely stating an opinion. However, there is no
LL> >LL>truth that the concept of a "co-mediatrix" is
part of the Teaching
LL> >LL>of the Church.
LL>
LL> GP>See the prayers to Mary. . .
LL>
LL> Asking Mary to "pray for us sinners" is not the same as making
LL> Mary a "co-mediatrix". Asking a departed loved one to pray for
LL> us is not making that departed loved one a "co-mediatrix".

Actually, yes, it is, plus add to this that it is expressly forbidden to
communicate with the dead and ask them ANYTHING!!!

LL> We pray for others, and hope others will pray for us. Whether
LL> Jewish, Christian, Muslim, or some other faith, it matters not.
LL> For Catholics, asking Mary to "pray for us" is very natural.

For CATHOLICS, yes, it seems natural to contradict Scriptures by praying to the
dead (Mary & the saints!)

Your friend,
