-> Didn't you get any of this? Thought you did. But, GLAD you didn't! I've
-> never seen a storm do so much damage. Richard's new truck with plow lost
-> it's power steering while he was plowing..he wasn't tooooo pi**ed!  Also,
he
-> got it stuck trying to plow back to the barn...had to have some guys from
-> work come over and pull him out with my truck. Lost a bunch of tree
-> tops...huge pines that have been around for years. It's really sad. Some
-> we can let stand and grow new tops, but some have to come down totally.
One
-> of the landscapers that does a lot of work for my brother came over with
his
-> chain saw and at least got the trees out of the road going back to the
barn.
-> Otherwise, God only knows when we'd have gotten it cleared out. The yard
is
-> a MESS!! Heard on the radio today that tree surgeons are at a premium,
nd
-> that they'll probably get at least a year's worth of work out of this.
Only a few flurries. We had a wind storm back about a month ago though that
knocked down a lot of pines here. The top of the ground was thawed and it
as
still frozen down about 6-8 inches or so. Most of them just uprooted
themselves and fell over. Of course these were record winds for us. The
clocked the highest gusts at over 70 mph. Closest to a hurricane I have ever
been I guess.
-> However, have to be thankful that what came down didn't hit the house,
-> trucks, barn, etc. One tree top missed our house by inches. Florida is
-> looking better and better! Or Phoenix, or right now, I'd even settle for
-> SoCal (g)!
Well look back at the pictures of what FL looks like after a hurricane. Look
back at what So. Cal looks like after a earthquake or fire or mud slide. The
turn your heat up to 120 and see if you like that for the Phoenix feeling.
ANd
then wait a few weeks and see what it looks like right where you are!
->
-> And, as is always the case in the spring, the stuff is melting fast. So
-> we'll only have alot of mud to contend with in a day or two.
Yeah but it will dry up all by itself.
