Extremely common misperception so tell her not to feel bad.
Sushi is that nori (seaweed) wrapped pretty looking thing with a center
¨filling, sliced and served by the piece. They use a sweet rice with
vinigar ¨and the center is filled with various things, most of them *here*
are ¨vegetarian fillings and the few that are not, normally are cooked
seafood ¨types.
Sashimi is raw fish, sliced pretty, and normally served ontop of rice
(which ¨may be hand formed or may be loose) but may also be at the side of
the rice.
