You also don't seem to care that the power Castro apparently has over
Clinton also applies to Elian's father and Cuban family. Elian is now a
highly public "child of the revolution", and Castro still
maintains some of the world's most sophisticated psychiatric facilities and
techniques.
At the very least, this young boy deserves a fair and independent judgment
on his likely future once being returned to Cuba, even if he is temporarily
removed to a neutral 3rd party while that process continues. If, at the end
of that process, it is determined that we must return him, so be it.
