Hi Julia:
I just took a serger class last night. Traded in my previous serger on an
elna 5 thread serger, and took my beginning class. Discovered two new things
in the class. 1) The looper has a piece you push down to make it easier to
thread, and 2) if you adjust your differential feed to a 2 and your stitch
length to as little as possible, (I think this is the way), that you can
gather on the serger, and it looks really neat.
Next Wednesday I take the intermediate class, and learn how to make a t-shirt
on the serger. Should be interesting. That and rolled hems are the agenda.
I got a chance to make a top for the neighbor's great granddaughter. She and
her mother are staying there until they get back on their feet from a move
from Utah. She is about 3 and is a size 3. I had a baseball type pattern I
bought when our greatgrandson was born a couple of years ago and wanted to
make it up for him, but he never gets brought over to see us. So I traced
he
size 3 off, and made her a top. She looks really cute in it. I put lace and
ribbon down the front on either side of the buttonholes. I like it. and it
was fun doing.
