Kind of you to say so. I've always used the Ikelite housing for my
Nikon FTn SLR. Generally speaking, I use a 24mm Nikkor lens (with a dome
port) for normal reef scenes, and a Nikkor 50mm lens (with a flat port) for
fish portraits. I use the 50mm lense with extension tubes for macro work.
I've got an Ikelite 225 strobe that I use together with a smaller slaved
Ikelite strobe for fill flash. I have a Mini-C halogen light strapped to
both of the strobes for modeling lights as well general get around lights for
night diving.....the built in modeling light in the 225 doesn't cut it in
daylight.
Needless to say, I carry enough crap to sink a battleship. People get out of
my way when I stagger through carrying the contraption, but I've sure gotten
some sweet shots with it. I generally shoot with Ektachrome 100 and then
have maybe 1 slide out of 36 blown up into a 11X14. (I tend to be a mite
particular.)
I've got many a shot that I'd stack up against anything on the cover of Skin
Diver. Got a hernia, too......
