Hi, Lee Lofaso!
I read your message from 24.09.2017 23:09
LL> The world's population is projected to increase to 11.2 billion
LL> people by the year 2100. That is a heck of a lot of people.
LL> However, the population of Russia is expected to decline, to 111
LL> million people, by the year 2050.
The less people the more oxygen and money as the Norwegian say. Probably
they live so well because of their low fecundity. In Moscow there are
three times more people than in whole Norway! That's why they have good
roads! What a mess it would be if they were the Arabs or Chinese! ;) In
short frost is a good thing for humans.
LL> population of what the United States is today. In that light, how
LL> can countries with declining populations (such as Russia and Japan)
LL> expect to remain relevant in the world of the future?
You don't count the immigration. During last few years almost million of
Ukrainians immigrated to Russia, not counting almost three millions
people living in Crimea. In countries around Russia there are another 20
millions Russian who certainly will eventually immigrate to Russia.
There is nothing to do for Russians in such desert places like
Kazakhstan, for instance, unless there are young Komsomol members sent
there by a Party order. ;-)
LL> It is difficult to imagine the largest country in the world, with
LL> less than 1 percent of the world's population, remaining a power of
LL> any kind. OTOH, feeding such a small population should be easy, in
LL> comparison to how difficult it will be for countries with large
LL> populations.
Yes, and the natural resources allow do nothing for it. ;-) But if to
speak seriously, IMHO, an overpopulated country has a less potential for
the economical growth. The US has reached its limits and now fights with
immigration and socialism. ;=) Russia now looks like a deep water basin
which is ready to be filled soon. Overpopulation is a big problem - for
instance in China they fight with their birthrate using draconic,
inhuman methods.
LL> Which is the basis for this next question -
LL> How is the world going to feed itself when it runs out of land?
LL> People have to eat. And when there is no more land available to
LL> grow crops, what are they going to do?
Food resources have always controlled the birthrate. It is true for the
beasts, it true for the humans.
LL> I hear that many Chinese are moving north to Siberia. Not sure if
LL> they are doing so legally. Kind of like Mexicans who come to the
LL> US. And then there are those from India. Maybe the Himalayas are
LL> too difficult for them to cross, thus saving Russia the cost of
LL> housing them.
Anyway it will be a peaceful solution -- Russia and China have too much
deadly weapon to fight for territories.
LL> Think about what a world power Russia would be if all the Chinese
LL> and Indians would move to Siberia. Russia could give up all its
LL> nukes, and tell the world it is producing food for all. Land +
LL> Cheap Labor = Success
The country territory is very important. The bigger country is the more
talented people it has. A big territory is like a big cosmos radar for
talented souls. Russia did a pause in its development, but it has a
great perspective and all resources necessary.
LL> There. I have just refuted Karl Marx' dissertation on communism.
LL> Your turn.
He didn't write of a birth control. ;-) IMHO, it was too obscene at that
time. :)
Bye, Lee!
