SA>Well, hopefully you won't be the first that you know of! :)
Amen!
SA>I can understand them wanting to protect their intellectual property
SA>interests, but to me, trademarking *names* is a little too anal for my
SA>tastes. Next thing you know, they'll be trademarking "phasers" and
SA>"Heisenberg (sp?) Compensators". Where will it end?
I makes a certain amount of sense. It paves the way to sue anyone who
is making lots of money on unliscensed Trek merchandising. It is sort
of annoying, but I think that cutting into P'mount's profits is where
it cuts.
SA>I can see it now... Paramount trademarks enough names and items, and when
SA>it comes time for the scientific/industrial world to produce them for
SA>real, they'll all have to pay licensing and royalty fees to the big "P"!
SA>Better stop now... that thought just gave me on slobber-knocker of a
SA>headache...
SA>Steve
I seriously doubt that this would happen.
