Is *what* kilobits or kilobytes ?
The *general* answer would be kilobytes, 'cos bits are generally only
useful from a programming POV, and they are rarely ever counted.
When was the last time you heard of someone using a 288k BIT per sec
modem ? (This would be the same as having a 28.8k cps (bps) modem
using 1 start BIT and 1 stop BIT, {at}8 bits per byte/character)
