Hmmm.... I suddenly become less thrilled about the idea of getting a new
desktop machine.

Are there desktops that do not use fans or that use them only part of the time when
the machine is doing more work?

I was also thinking of getting two hard drives for RAID redundancy. But that's more
noise too.
