If I recall correctly, the deep fryer scene was more or less intact. US
networks aren't nearly as squeamish about violence as they are about
sex. If the violence passes muster in Britain, it will undoubtedly make
it on the air here. Sex and unclothed body parts (still attached to
living beings), on the other hand, rarely make the jump across the pond.
As far as editing is concerned, there are occasions when entire subplots
disappear when the show moves to the US. I'm thinking specifically of
Jonathan Creek on BBC America--there was an episode or two where I
thought something was odd in the editing until I found out there was an
entire subplot gone!
