No, it is not, and will never be.
It's not a good idea to gate echoes to/from the Internet for one main
reason--sysops have to PAY to transmit their mail, and the increase in
traffic could become very expensive, thus causing more sysops to drop
the echo because it's a nuisance expense.
There are other reasons, also, why it's not gated--
if advertisers start "spamming" (sending large amounts) of advertising
through the internet, it could crash small bbses who can't take that
much incoming mail at one time.
it could lead to uncontrolled language, ads, and unpleasantness on
Fidonet, coming from people who can't be cut off through the Internet
(the moderator's job would be next to impossible to perform properly).
Thus, the Parrot Echo as you and I know it will never appear on the
Internet.
I *might* someday start a private Parrot-echo-users-only mailing list on
the Internet for echo folks. If I ever did so (and it is not in the
forseeable future due to lack of my time), it would be *heavily*
moderated to prevent any problems.
