From: John Beckett "Geo" wrote in message news:: > How do you open a folder as admin? I'm not sure what Hrvoje had in mind, but one GUI equivalent of what I was talking about would be to customise a tool with mmc.exe, by adding all the snap-ins you would commonly use (Active Directory Users and Computers, DNS, etc). Then run that as admin at the start of the day. By the way, here is a trick that works in XP (not sure about W2000) if you want to terminate Windows Explorer. Click Start, then Turn Off Computer. A dialog appears - don't click anything. Press keys: Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Esc Before doing this, you would want to know that pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc will start Task Manager, and its File menu allows you to Run a program. Enter Explorer to restore Explorer. The reason for mentioning this is that apparently you have to terminate Explorer before running it as another user. I am NOT recommending this. It's just an interesting quirk. John --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 106/2000 633/267 |
