Your using AOL's "version" of MS I-Explorer while online. That version of
their browser is not on your system. However, trying to use MS IE that you
actually put on your system, perhaps from downloading it from somewhere and
trying to use it as a stand alone while online, will not work without Win95.
Like trying to use Netscape's browser as a stand alone. I've done this many
times while online, some sites just don't work under MS I-Explorer. So,
while online, you double click the Netscape icon that's somewhere on your
system in one of your groups, and the browser starts. Now, even though your
online with AOL, your not using AOL's "version" of their browser anymore.
MS I-Explorer works under the same principle. However, without Win95, it
won't work for you. That's the difference.

If your system has Win3xx you should be using AOL v3.0. Their other version
is for users with Win95. It says AOL v3.0 for Windows 95.
You can tell what version your using by going to HELP in AOL (even if your
offline it will work), click on HELP, then click on ABOUT. There it will
tell you what version your using.
If at anytime he downloaded or installed the new version for Win95, that
may be the reason he's getting cut off. Many people do this when they see
a new version is offered and don't realize they can't use it.
If it's not the problem, then I'd call them over voice phone, or send e-mail
to Tech Support and ask what the problem is.
 Sincerely,
 Michael Sharon
