STEVE KEMP was thinking about Re: lucy and keyed into cyberspace:
SK>MP>SK>DS>Where is the Altmed thread here? Is there any Jewish,
SK>MP>SK>DS>Russian or any other mention of such alternative medicine?
SK>MP>SK>DS>If you want to talk about non altmed things, please use
SK>MP>SK>DS>email.
SK>MP>SK>Still, alternative medicine is generally not a white american
SK>MP>SK>male dominated area. Statements of ethnic or regional import
SK>MP>SK>ARE within the scope of Altmed, in my opinion, therefore.
SK>MP>SK>Maybe if you posted a *subject* instead of complaining a new
SK>MP>SK>thread will evolve. Or is it up to everyone else to entertain
SK>MP>SK>and/or inform you?
SK>MP>Dia is the moderator of the conference, and she sets the topics,
SK>MP>and declares what is off topic. Perhaps she'll upload the Rules
SK>MP>for everyone to review.
SK>Well well, she certainly should have pointed that out...now shouldn't
SK>have she? Generally moderators do this when moderating. When they
SK>don't point this out that means that they are participating as a
SK>human, and not sending down pronouncements from moderator heaven.
This is **ALT**MED, and she has an **ALT**MODERATING style.
SK>And SHE sets the topics? That seems rather odd. I've never seen
SK>anything like that from a moderator, anywhere, EVER. I certainly
SK>would like to see these special echo rules that state such an
SK>outrageous thing. If this IS true then my initial comment still
SK>stands "Maybe if you posted a *subject* instead of complaining a new
SK>thread will evolve". Seeing that she hasn't done so I'd dare say
SK>she's not doing her job as you state it to be.
In FIDO, the moderator virtually has plenary authority. Why not just
accept it?
