LdF> Thanks for the hundreds of recipies you post in here! I can't use a
LdF> recipe book, so the ones you post here are really appreciated!
Hi there. Just an odd question; for which reason don't cookbooks work for
you? There are a lot of vision-impaired people in the Cooking echoes; I know
one does have a Braille cookbook, but his one book takes up more shelf space
than most Americans have in their kitchens. There may also be some people
with dyslexia around too; I know what reading is like for people with that
one. I went through college with two guys who had it. Me, I'm just an
ordinary computer freak cook in glasses.:-)
LdF> Where do you get all of them? What is Mealmaster?
I have no idea where Gigi gets all of those recipes, but the Internet is a
good place to start - places like www.cookbooks.com, and
http://soar.berkeley.edu. The latter has a ton of recipes already in
MealMaster format. Mealmaster is a computerized cookbook, for all intents
and purposes. It's a specialized database that, if I remember correctly,
will resize and give nutritional breakdowns for most recipes. It's also
shareware, and I'm told registering it can be worthwhile, especially if you
have A LOT of recipes.:)
What do you like to cook? I'm mostly an oven type, but branch out to
stovetops when the mood strikes. [aka when I want something to eat! ]
