BK :>I've never ridden a horse that spent 5-7 minutes at a full
BK :>gallop at various parts of the fence trying to get me off..
BK :>it was interesting. He was going to fast to step off.
Scary stuff! Any idea what set him off? Sounds kinda drastic even for an
ornery horse. My first horse used to do this with other people...he'd just
take off, go over brooks, under trees, along fence lines. ...just about
anything to get the rider off. He did it with me a couple of times when I
first got him....in those days, no one had heard of John Lyons, Perrelli,
etc....I beat the cr** out of him...he never did it with me again. Not quite
sure what I'd do nowadays.....
BK :>He's getting CJ's old training bit.. now that's a bit that
BK :>WILL turn a horse... However he also cracked his hoof.. so
BK :>no riding until I loosen up and we find out what the story
BK :>is on the hoof.
Too bad. Would have been good to get back up and try to straighten this guy
around. Hope the hoof heals soon.
Things here are slow...my enthusiasm level is really low and I can't figure
out why. Got 2 students now, the rest will return with the good weather.
And, to top it all off...we're supposed to get 10-20 inches of snow tonight
and tomorrow. Nice of winter to hold off so long. Geesh!!
