Starting something at the beginning of the day and keeping it running all
day doesn't work for me. I do troubleshooting so I never know what tool I'm
going to need next, I use everything and I regularly download something new
each day which I may use or may uninstall after I use it. Because I'm
troubleshooting I need the simplest setup so I know the problem isn't being
caused by something else I have running or maybe I need to change my IP
address or a static route or I need to trace from another machine via
pcanywhere or any of a hundered different things like that. I like that
about my job, I never know what to expect next.
I get the problems that nobody else can figure out.

Yeah, just open task manager and kill explorer then ctrl-shift-esc and
restart it as you described. The problem with doing this is some of the
tray icons won't return and I think a lot of those tray type programs get
messed up when you do this.
