        Hmm...  I haven't heard anything about this.  If you want a
        service manual, stop in & order it.  It'll be at your house in
        5-10 business days, or as soon as next day (for an extra
        charge).  I just look it up in the catalog & order it.  What I
        can't do is have you come in & say "I'm gonna make my scanner
        receive cellular frequencies.  Can you order me the sevice
        manual?"  Once I know you're planning an illegal act, I can't
        provide any assistance to you.  I have to refuse the sale.
        As always, this is just little old me talking, not Radio
        Shack.  I'm not sure they know my opinions, much less agree
        with them.  8-)
