I can beleive this, though it makes me wonder if this guy had the 
cylinder gap right.  I think it's .006", and is a very crucial part of 
adjusting the barrels on the DW.

Sounds about like the .454 casull class of cartridges.  I do plan on 
shooting the gun a bit though, more than what I'd plan in shooting 
something like the .454, so what you are saying is quite applicable.

I know the pressure limits went up to over 45,000 psi, easily 
outstripping the likes of the 30-30.  Looking through various manuals it
looks like the Max can be cranked up to almost 50% more energy than the
Mag, but as you say, I probably would rarely use these loads whereas I'll 
use some heavy loads in .357 quite a bit more.
That's okay though because now I still have a reason to get an IMI .50ae 
eventually.  :-)
