Greetings, Wr!

express viewing pleasure of Bill Wunsch:
BW>> Glad to see you are back! I got way behind in message reading...
BW>> So why were you gone? Problems with BBS, or did you change locations
WM>
WM> Thanks Bill. Actually the BBS worked fine all along... we've got an
WM> excellent setup here in that regard, but if you recall back a while,
WM> someone rammed our messages with all that filthy rotten text; well it
WM> sure put me off, I gotta tell you. There was nothing "aviation" about
it.
WM> I was so disgusted that I left the conference, and to my amazement there
WM> was a side benefit... I got other things done!
I realized what was going on when I received the first bunch of unwelcome
mail, and I didn't read any more than the first one, so I don't know how
rotten they got.
WM> I've been lurking for a
WM> little while now and an a bit reluctant to get into technical
iscussions
WM> since I realized it is quite time consuming.
Yes, it can really be time consuming, but I am sure your replies have been
well received. The information you supplied in the past has been most
interesting to me. We used to have a number of lurkers on here that toiled
in the airline industry, but I think we lost most of them.
WM> To bring you up-to-date,
WM> I'm now in the left seat of the B-767 doing a lot of transcon, both Can
WM> US. Howz the YQR Flying Club?
Hmmmmm. That used to be just QR back when I was flying. Every changes since
then, even the runway numbers. I used to land on 07 now and then, my first
solo was on 25, and the main runway was 12-30. Now I think they are 26-08
and 13-31.
WM> We sometimes used to nip over there for
WM> a quick lunch during a YQR station stop, but the 67 doesn't go there
w.
They had problems for a number of years, but after Grant took on the
lubhouse
(and I think he is still there) that part of the operation improved a whole
lot. But everything is different now from the days when it was my second
home.
I seldom go out there anymore. I stopped by one Sunday last summer just to
get some info. I wanted to know the offical sunset in a few places. In my
flying days I could just pick up the phone and have an answer in a few
minutes, but since I am out of touch, I thought I would just ask someone.
Well, they couldn't be bothered. What a stuffy bunch in the office these
days. Sunday used to be the BIG day at the club, with whole families
spending time out there. Well the Clubhouse isn't even open anymore on
Sunday now.
Sob.
