I'm not agreeing or disagreeing Jane's statement, since I have no first hand
information, but since teachers and administrators can not write
rescriptions
for any medication let alone stimulants, let's put the blame where it
elongs.
IT FALLS ON THE SHOULDERS OF DOCTORS, who for one reason or another, fail to
do
proper testing and screenings. Just because a teacher or parent says they
think a student has ADD/ADHD, doesn't mean that the doctor should forget
bout
the testing. I mean how many people heard about this disorder through a
uick
news bit, or a magazine acticle? What is overlooked in most cases is the
act
that everyone has some ADD/ADHD traits, but in a person with this disorder
these traits are much more pronounced than in a so called normal person.
