subject: Windows Update Futzles Office 2003 VBA

From: Mike N.

I just discovered that something in the last security patch has disturbed
VBA operation in Office 2003. I patched on 12 April. The next time I
used some VBA macros in Excel and Access, I got the weirdest errors: things
like the MID() function says that the VBA library wasn't registered. I
fiddled with it for a while, and suddenly it started to work. In Access,
it couldn't find macros or VBA code. Once again, after fiddling with
things it started to work.

I didn't record in detail each keystroke I did, so I don't know what
made things start to work again. No other application was installed since
I last used the VBA macros.

This is the Genuine Advantage. XP SP2.
