SD> With due respect, we have not "determined" that it is
SD> Maximus. The problem is either with Maximus or a
SD> problem with the interaction between Maximus and the
SD> FOSSIL driver. The latter case could easily be
SD> attributed to the FOSSIL as well.
Lets see...The Mailer works fine with the Digifossil & Digiboard
Telix works fine with the Digifossil & Digiboard
Renegade works fine with the Digifossil & Digiboard
PC Board works fine with the Digifossil & Digiboard
All 210+ online games work fine with Digifossil & Digiboard
It would be safe to assume that the problem is with Maximus since everything
else works fine and the only thing that doesn't is Maximus!!! I thought we
already had that established!!! According to the author of Digifossil, there
is something that Maximus is not conforming to the standard routines used by
fossils and BBSes that don't require fossils!!! I had trouble getting X00 to
work properly with Maximus at one point as well!!! It was working with X00
BUT the CPS and file tranfer rates always ran slower than the norm so I
switched to BNU and all my problems were eliminated until I got my Digiboard
last November and I've been working on this problem with the Digifossil
author and Digi International Tech Support since then!!! It has been
established that it is not the Digiboard or the Digifossil since in all other
scenarios and tests they come up fine!!! I get 3500 CPS file transfer rate
with my mailer on a normal modem hooked up to the Digiboard and 6600 CPS with
my mailer on an ISDN Modem hooked up to the Digiboard!!! The problem is with
Maximus!!! Renegade is full of back doors and bugs and PC Board is not user
or sysop friendly!!! They work with the Digiboard & Digifossil but since they
are harder to configure and don't work with Squish (squish is the only
tossing system that allows me to UUDECODE the Internet's Binary Files an
entire Base at a time using a special process I developed)!!! OS/2 has
something against online games and when I have over 60 of 210+ games
registered this is not a desirable switch!!! What I was asking you to do
politely, was to look at the routines of Digifossil and write me a patch FOR
Maximus so that Maximus conforms to the routines of Digifossil!!! The other
alternative was to use the Port modifying programs that come with BNU or X00
to modify BNU or X00 to use my Digiboard port addresses but the info needed
to be inserted is a foreign language to someone that doesn't know Port
vectors etc etc!!! I'm trying to work with you here so even if you can't come
up with a Maximus patch you can address the problem in your next version of
Maximus!!! The appearance that I have watching the repeating logon prompt is
that Maximus is inserting [ENTER] automatically each time the Logon Prompt
comes up!!! If a user is quick enough he can get 1-2 letters inserted before
the prompt repeats!!! Correct me if I'm wrong but is this not a linefeed
problem where it is automatically inserting linefeeds???
