Wouldn't it be easier to use something like RAS to connect the
computers via modem? Or, are they in the same room using a Null Modem
cable. Once you have a RAS connection, you could just copy or FTP the
files. Anyway, there is a good book on writing Delphi Internet
applications that might be some help, I don't have the title handy, but
if you are interested, let me know and I will dig the book out.
