Here's a new thought -- maybe it's the indoor/outdoor aspect that
affects lifespan? They say that cats that are 100% indoor cats live, on
average, 5-7 years longer than outdoor ones!
Great Danes would more likely be kept out in the backyard or porch,
while lapdogs are most often indoors, receiving lots of
love/attention/cuddles (maybe it's that daily physical attention that
helps them live longer?)
